Donington, Free Practice: Narain Karthikeyan (Super Nova International) sets the pace

Narain Karthikeyan, driving for Super Nova International, logged the fastest lap of the day so far in the Auto GP practice session at Donington. The Indian racer logged a personal fastest lap of 1'16"769 as he beat Sergio Campana by 0.598s, with the Ibiza Racing Team ace aiming to catch up with championship leader Kimyia Sato in standings. The Japanese racer scored the 6th fastest lap for Euronova Racing. He followed the Ghinzani Motorsport pair of Romanian Robert Visoiu and Italian Kevin Giovesi, with Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss (Ibiza Racing Team) rounding out the top-5.

Daniel De Jong eventually took 7th for MP Motorsport as he logged 23 laps on the 4km long British track, more than anybody else on-track. Japanese Yoshitaka Kuroda (Euronova Racing) and Dutchman Meindert Van Buuren (MP Motorsport) followed him in 8th and 9th while the top-10 was rounded out by Andrea Roda. The Virtuosi UK racer was back on-track after his mechanics repaired the damage suffered in a crash during Thursday's testing session. Several off-track exits conditioned the experiences of Vittorio Ghirelli (Super Nova International), Roberto La Rocca (Comtec by Virtuosi), Max Snegirev (Virtuosi UK) and Visoiu. Qualifying is scheduled for today at 16:25.
