The 2010 champion, Romais Grosjean, won the GP2 Series in 2011 and made it to a full-time Lotus F.1 ride by the following season. In 2011, Kevin Ceccon drove for Toro Rosso in the Formula 1 young driver test at Abu Dhabi. He also entered a full GP3 Series season and scored a podium finish in this season's GP2 Series round at Monte Carlo. Early Auto GP star Adrien Tambay moved to the DTM as a manufacturer Audi driver, while 2011 runner-up Luca Filippi recently made his professional IndyCar debut. Last but not least, Sato himself entered the 2013 F.1 Young Driver Test at Silverstone, driving for Sauber Formula 1 Team. Lining-up in Auto GP are also two former F.1 racers. A full-time Auto GP star, Narain Karthikeyan is currently fighting for title, while Christian Klien also joined the pack at Mugello. The Austrian was one of the first drivers to line-up for Red Bull in Formula 1 as he partnered David Coulthard.

More international talent comes from Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss, who scored good results so far and is now driving for Ibiza Racing Team. After yesterday's test, the drivers got a break today as no activity was scheduled on-track and they visited the Donington Grand Prix Collection, the world-famous museum located at the track and featuring several of the most iconic racing vehicles in history. The engines will be back roaring tomorrow with a practice session scheduled at 11:35, while qualifying will follow at 16:25. The two races, broadcasted by Eurosport, will be taking-off respectively at 9:50 AM and 16:10.
